The equipment consists of a pressure-tight cylindrical measuring bowl with flanges, with a capacity of 0.005 cubic metres (5 kg) and a maximum aggregate size of 38 mm. A seal is used to attach a detachable flanged conical lid assembly to the bowl. An air valve and a pet cock for bleeding out the water are both on the conical lid. Attached to the conical cap assembly is a transparent cylindrical stand pipe with graded air content.
