The Set-Up comprises of a ball valve and gate valve, a half bend and elbow, a sudden expansion and sudden contraction fitting from 15 mm to 25 mm. At the inlet and exit of these fittings undergoing testing, pressure tapings are available. An individual fitting's pressure loss is determined by a differential manometer installed in the line. The current setup is an independent water recirculating device with a sump tank, a centrifugal pump, and other features. In the water pipe, flow control and bypass valves are installed to allow for the experiment's various flow rates. With the aid of a measuring tank and a stopwatch, the flow rate of water is determined.
Experimental objectives
To determine loss of head in the fitting at various water flow rates.
To measure the loss co-efficient for the pipe fittings.
