The
unit consists of a vessel fully insulated with glass wool. Inside the vessel, a
fixed copper helical coil is installed, and at the center of the coil is a
motorized agitator. The system includes a controller for the vessel, along with
an electric heater for heating purposes. Cold water is circulated through the
coil while the heater warms the water within the jacket. By measuring the
temperatures of both the circulating water and the water inside the vessel, the
heat transfer coefficient can be determined at various agitator speeds.
Experimental Objective
evaluate
the coil side overall heat transfer coefficient (U) at various agitation speeds
in the provided agitated vessel.
