The
apparatus is constructed using two M.S. plates, Bakelite, brass, and aluminum,
which are arranged sequentially on either side of a central heater to form a
composite wall. This assembly is securely mounted within a sturdy frame and is
clearly visible through a transparent Perspex sheet, allowing easy observation.
Thermocouple tapings are strategically placed to enable accurate measurement of
thermal conductivity and resistance across the composite wall layers.
Experimental Objective
Evaluate the overall thermal
resistance and conductivity of the composite wall.
Plot the temperature gradient across the composite wall.
