Three concentric pipes put on a suitable stand make up the equipment. A lagging substance is used to fill the spaces between the innermost and middle pipes, and another lagging material is used to fill the spaces between the middle and outermost pipes. A cartridge heater is installed at the pipe's axle length to heat the lagged pipe. The input to the heater can be measured using the voltmeter and ammeter on the panel. The thermocouples affixed to the pipe's surfaces can measure the intermediate temperatures. So, it is possible to determine the materials' final conductivity.
Experimental objectives
Plot the radial temperature distribution in the composite cylinder and determine the thermal conductivity of the pipe insulation
