The
device features a channel designed to test both forced and natural convection
on a pin fin. The channel is connected to the blower’s suction, with forced
convection used to operate the blower, allowing airflow over the pin fin.
During natural convection, the window above the pin fin remains open to the
atmosphere. Five thermocouple tapings are placed along the length of the fin to
measure temperature distribution. This setup enables the determination of the
coefficient, efficiency, and other parameters related to both natural and
forced heat transfer.
Experimental Objective
analyze
temperature distribution along the pin fin under free and forced convection
heat transfer.
experimentally
and theoretically determine the heat transfer coefficient for free and forced
convection.
