The
system consists of a plate type heat exchanger, where hot water from a geyser
serves as the hot fluid and a separate cold fluid flows through the system. The
input and outlet connectors are arranged to form a counterflow heat exchanger,
facilitating efficient heat transfer between the fluids. By measuring the
relevant parameters during the flow of hot and cold fluids through the
alternating plates, students can calculate the heat transfer rate, Log Mean
Temperature Difference (LMTD), heat transfer coefficients, and the overall
efficiency of the heat exchanger.
Experimental Objective
The Plate Heat exchanger is a 4plate brazed model that
demonstrates the basic principles of heat transfer
To determine the overall heat transfer coefficient in a
plate type heat exchanger at different hot fluid flow rate
