The
device is designed to calibrate a thermocouple for a temperature range of 0 to
100 degrees Celsius. During the calibration process, the thermocouple is first
immersed in ice water to represent 0°C, and then in boiling water to represent
100°C. This procedure is repeated until a linear calibration is obtained,
ensuring that the thermocouple accurately reflects the true temperatures of ice
and boiling water. A millivolt (mV) meter is provided to measure the corresponding
voltage generated by the thermocouple during calibration.
