This
apparatus is designed to study the behavior of
different curved structural elements under load. It consists of a steel bar
shaped into various forms such as a complete circle, a semicircle with a
straight arm, a circular quadrant, and a quadrant with a straight extension.
These elements are firmly fixed to a base at their bottom ends. When a load is
applied to the free end of the curved member, the horizontal and vertical
deflections can be accurately measured using a dial gauge. The apparatus comes
equipped with a dial gauge featuring 25 mm travel and a magnetic base
for stable and precise readings. It is also supplied with a supporting
stand and a set of weights, making it a complete setup for
practical demonstrations and student experiments in structural mechanics.
