The
apparatus is designed based on a PRATT steel truss and consists of four panels,
each measuring 40 cm in length and 30 cm in height. Loads can be applied at any
of the panel points to study the distribution of forces within the truss. To
clearly observe deformation, all tension members are equipped with detachable
springs. Additionally, the direction of the diagonal members can be adjusted to
explore different truss configurations. This setup provides a clear visual
representation of the types of forces acting on various truss components. The
apparatus is supplied with a sturdy supporting stand and a complete set of
weights, making it ideal for hands-on learning and demonstrations in structural
mechanics laboratories.
