Sharp Techno Systems has developed this simple and user friendly setup to study the behavior of cutting forces during milling in three directions. This unit allows students to evaluate cutting depth, speed, and feed. It operates using the widely used octagonal ring and strain gauges method. The first section of the device consists of mechanical rings attached with strain gauges between two M.S. plates. During milling, these octagonal rings provide the relevant data to the force indicator.
