The instrument is constructed from a spiral casing that houses an impeller. The impeller is propelled by a variable-speed D.C. motor. Three interchangeable impellers, including radial forward and backward curved vanes, are included with the device. The speed of the impeller is digitally shown. A given effort measures the outflow. Students can evaluate how well different impellers function at various speeds as a consequence.
