This product comprises a circular ring made of a non-magnetic silver-aluminum alloy wound with insulated copper wire. The wire ends are connected to terminals fitted on a wooden base. A rectangular frame made of anodized aluminum bars is supported on the wooden base; the aluminum bars are graduated up to 50 cm on both sides. A movable platform is provided on the rectangular frame along the coil's axis. A permanent magnet compass box with a hollow circular cavity at the bottom fits onto this platform. This setup is used to study the variation of the magnetic field along the axis of a circular coil carrying current by plotting a graph.
Experimental Objective
To study the variation of Magnetic Field with distance along the axis of a circular coil carrying current by plotting a graph
