With Vashishat Expansion Apparatus, students can accurately and easily investigate the expansion of metals with increasing temperature. Consisting of metal rod 50cm in length and 25mm dia and experimental rod held inside a brass steam jacket through rubber bungs situated at each end of the tube with holes fitted at its ends. It has three side tubes, one for steam inlet, second for steam outlet and a third central tube to hold the thermometer. One end of the experimental rod presses against a rigid metallic support, and the other is free to expand. This expansion can be measured using a Spherometer attachment fitted at the end. The central leg of the Spherometer is in-line with the experimental rod. Comes complete with one brass, aluminium and iron expansion bars of length 50 cm approx.
