This Conservation of Momentum Apparatus is a physics laboratory model designed to demonstrate the law of conservation of momentum and energy through collision experiments. It helps students observe how momentum is transferred between steel balls during impact. The apparatus works by releasing a steel ball from the top of a curved inclined metal track. The ball travels down the track and collides with four steel balls placed on the base track. After collision, it is observed that only one ball moves out from the opposite end, clearly showing the transfer of momentum through the system.

The apparatus consists of a curved inclined metal track and five steel balls. The track is kept level so that the collision takes place only in the horizontal plane, making it suitable for clear and accurate classroom demonstration.

Experimental Objectives

To demonstrate the law of conservation of momentum.
To study conservation of energy during collision.
To observe momentum transfer between steel balls.
To demonstrate collision in the horizontal plane.
To understand the behavior of bodies before and after impact.
