The Compound Bar Pendulum Steel is a precision-engineered physics laboratory instrument designed for demonstrating the principles of simple harmonic motion, center of gravity, and moment of inertia. It features a uniform rectangular steel bar with a durable powder-coated finish and dimensions of 100 × 3.75 × 0.5 cm. Holes are drilled at 5 cm intervals along the entire length to accommodate removable knife edges. The pendulum is suspended vertically using a horizontal knife edge positioned through any selected hole. The knife edge rests securely on a rigid wall-mounted bracket, Supplied with wall bracket.
Experimental Objective
To determine the value of accelaration due to gravity g using compound bar pendulum.
To determine the radius of gyration of a compound (bar) pendulum about an axis passing through its center of gravity and perpendicular to its length.
