This Young’s Modulus Apparatus – Searle’s Method (Iron Frame, Brass Parts) is a precision laboratory instrument used to determine the Young’s Modulus of a given wire by Searle’s method. It is designed for accurate measurement of wire extension under applied tension and is suitable for advanced elasticity experiments in physics laboratories.
Built with a sturdy cast iron frame and precision brass components, the apparatus provides durability, stability, and reliable measurement performance. It includes a sensitive spirit level mounted between two rectangular frames, where one end rests on a precision micrometer screw and the other end is pivoted for fine adjustment.
The micrometer is graduated 10 mm on either side of zero and fitted with a 0.01 mm Vernier, allowing precise observation of small extensions in the wire. Supplied complete with a ceiling bracket, two self-centering chucks, and a tension weight, packed in a cardboard box.
