This given Young’s Modulus Apparatus – Vernier Type is a simple and accurate physics laboratory apparatus used to determine the Young’s Modulus of a wire by measuring its extension under applied load. It is specially designed for elasticity experiments where precise measurement of small elongations is required.

The apparatus includes an engraved 10 cm brass scale along with a movable Vernier having a least count of 0.1 mm. Both the main scale and Vernier are fitted with clamping bars and hooks to hold the test wire and comparison wire securely. A ceiling clamp is provided for proper suspension of wires during the experiment.

Supplied with a 1.3 kg tension weight for the comparison wire, this apparatus is suitable for schools, colleges, universities, and educational physics laboratories.

Experimental Objectives
To determine the Young’s Modulus of the material of a given wire.
To measure the extension produced in a wire under applied load.
To study the relationship between stress, strain, and Young’s Modulus.
To understand the elastic behavior of wires within the elastic limit.
