The Capillary Tube Apparatus is a precision physics laboratory setup designed to study surface tension, capillary action, and capillary rise in liquids. It provides a stable and adjustable platform for observing the rise of liquid in capillary tubes of different bore sizes.
The apparatus features a slow-motion vertical stand fitted with a 10 cm diameter circular aluminium platform, which can be raised or lowered through coarse adjustment and locked securely with a thumb screw. A fine adjustment mechanism allows precise positioning during observations. The complete assembly is mounted on a heavy circular metal base with two levelling screws for proper stability and alignment.
It is supplied with a support rod and connector to hold the capillary tube clamp. The clamp accommodates three capillary tubes of different bore sizes and includes a pointer for accurate measurement of capillary rise. This apparatus is ideal for schools, colleges, universities, and educational physics laboratories.
