This Inertia Apparatus / Newton First Law of Motion Apparatus is a simple and effective physics demonstration device used to explain the concept of inertia of a body at rest. It helps students understand Newton’s First Law of Motion through a clear and practical classroom experiment.The apparatus consists of a stand with a receptacle at the top for holding an 18 mm ball. A square sheet metal plate is placed beneath the ball, along with a sheet metal trigger mechanism. When the trigger is pulled and released, the square metal sheet quickly slides out from under the ball. Due to inertia, the ball remains nearly at rest and drops directly into the receptacle.

This easy-to-use apparatus is ideal for demonstrating inertia, rest state, and Newton’s First Law in schools, colleges, science labs, and classroom physics demonstrations.
