Screw Jack – Small is a compact mechanics laboratory model designed to demonstrate the working principle of a screw jack and its application as a simple lifting machine. It helps students understand how rotational effort is converted into linear motion for lifting loads.
The apparatus consists of a precision screw jack mounted on a 12 cm diameter metallic circular base. A 10 cm diameter turned aluminium pulley is fitted for applying effort, while an adjustable guide pulley supports smooth operation during experimentation. A vertical linear scale is provided for accurate observation and measurement.
